Back On Our Way

Brenya did very well today. The tests they run to see how the infection is doing show that it is on the run. However, the markers for her inflammatory response have gone up slightly. This could mean a number of things but the doctors don't seem to worried about it. She was able to be weaned off of her ventilator a bunch today. The amount of oxygen they were giving her went down from 70 to 50%.  They also went down on the amplitude (it helps with the lungs ability to get rid of carbon dioxide) it went from 33 down to 27 hertz. These are great improvements but the nurses seem to be cautious about celebrating yet. They say that most of the time when it comes to these kinds of things babies tend to take two steps forward and one step back. Mom and Dad are hopeful that these two big steps hold there footing!
